It has come to my attention (in a very circuitous manner) that some things I've written to be funny have been perceived the wrong way by a few people. I'm learning that when you have a blog somehow people who know you find it. Maybe it's my fault for being needy and sharing the address with anyone at all. Maybe it's just the nature of the internet and the society we live in. Maybe it's just because I'm hysterical and everyone wants to read what I have to say. (Okay, probably not that one.)
Looking back at my prior posts you may be thinking to yourself "Wow, Kristen Stewart reads this blog?" since she is the only person I've actually called out in a snarky way. Sadly, she does not. (But if you start reading, Kristen, I just want to let you know that you're growing on me. Kick some ass in New Moon!) I can see how this problem occurred, though. For example, if I were to write "Never go to the beach with a PMS-ing tramp" and we've been to the beach together before you might think "She just called me a PMS-ing tramp!" Umm... no. I didn't. Believe it or not, I've been to the beach with lots of different people. And they all have very different backgrounds, family situations, and viewpoints. Some of which I might pull on to be funny. Maybe I saw someone at the beach with a PMS-ing tramp and I don't even KNOW said tramp. So, to clear up confusion, look to the right of this here post. See the column that says "Cast of Characters?" Unless I married you, pushed you out of my womb, or name you specifically (perhaps with a physical description and address included) this blog is not about you. (Well, except for this particular post.)
When I started blogging I made up a few "rules" for myself. First, no real names. My kids are ridiculously cute and I'm not down with stalkers. (Unless they're fictional vampires, but that's for another blog.) Second, nothing vicious or embarrasing that can ruin someone's reputation (including mine.) Once you hit the "publish" button, there's never really any take-backs. Third, honesty can be funny and it's possible to be honest about my life experiences while adhering to the first two rules.
I also believe that as long as I stay within my own boundaries I have a right to say whatever the hell I want on my blog. And really, if I never blogged about things that I've heard, seen, or have happened to me, this would be a pretty boring blog. And I've got a whopping 11 subscribers who think otherwise. So here's to freedom of speach, peace of mind, and blogging like a mad woman in 2009. Happy New Year, and thanks for reading. :)

You said it all perfectly! Some people take things too personally... even when they don't know you, lol!
Happy New Year! In my book, you're off to a great start ;)
